10 things to do to feel like a 10

     There are some days where you just don't feel your best. When I have those days, I do some of the little things that just make me feel really great. Today, I'm going to be sharing my top 10 things to do to have you feeling like a 10.

//Buy yourself some flowers//
Sometimes, when you feel a little off, buying yourself a bunch of flowers can really lift your spirits. I love going to Whole Foods and buying myself tulips. Pro tip: Make sure to place them in a very visible spot of your room as a constant reminder that you are worth it.
//Make a boss playlist//
Music is one of my favorite spirit lifters. Something about dancing around your room to uplifting lyrics can add a positive side to any situation. Whenever I'm worried, I completely jam out to "Trust in You" my Lauren Daigle, and somehow in the midst of it all, I am reminded that the Creator of the Universe is chasing me down with His grace and favor and that He has my best interest in mind.

//Pamper yourself//
One of my favorite things to do is drop a Lush bubble bar in the tub, light a candle and watch something on my laptop. Add a face mask of choice and you have yourself a DIY pamper night. If you don't want to watch anything, it's a really great idea to just put on a slow paced worship playlist and meditate on the lyrics, or even just put your hair back, lay in the tub and talk to God. All in all, bath+face mask= self-treated.

//Try a bold lip color//
Few things in life can make you feel more fierce than a bold lippy. Try a ravishing red or a perfect pink!

//Get to pinning//
I love making Pinterest boards for legitimately anything. If you want to make a board on your life goals, style or just quotes, go for it! Anything flies girly.

//Read a book//
I adore a good read and often find myself wishing I had more time to read; (fingers crossed that summer will come a little bit faster). I often feel a lot better when I learn something. Reading a girl boss book puts a real pep in my step and you'll most definitely be on your way to feeling a 10.

//Watch a TEDtalk//
As aforementioned, I love learning things. TED talks are awesome for it. The speakers are rather informative, the cream of the crop and crème de la crème. I aspire to be a neurologist and neurosurgeon, so personally I like the neuroscience talks.
Watch whatever you want!

//Work out//
Casse Ho is my go to gal. Whenever I want to destress physically, I load up some Blogilates on my Apple TV
and sweat it out. Whether you like running, yoga or pilates, a good sweat can overall make you feel really
great about yourself.

//Make your fave dessert//
You can lift yourself by making or (ok, buying) your favorite sweet! My guilty pleasure is red velvet, but if I
want to keep it Dr.Oz approved, I reach for a good acai bowl.
Treat yoself!

//Post reminders//
Grab a stack of post it notes, and write reminders that make you feel like a total girl boss.
Reminding yourself of who you are, and what you're
capable of is such a good feel and you'll have a constant
reminder that you are worth everything wonderful, and then some.

I really hope that you all enjoyed my top 10 things to do to feel like a 10! Try some of these out and watch
your spirits soar.

Finding Rest in the Lover of Our Soul

     Whew. It has been a super hectic week. So many assignments, tests, quizzes and life itself was thrown at me, eager to see how I would react- but I wouldn't have it any other way. Now, I don't mean to say that I enjoy hardship and ask for it, but I do try to rejoice in the trials because God has placed them there for a reason, and "God wastes nothing, even the bad stuff".

      Through the week, God has stood true to me in showing me that He really never will forsake me and that He is always there to supply the precious reassurance I often need. I recently created a little prayer journal without lines- for the art :-). From there, I hopped on Pinterest as I so often do, ( you can follow me here; no shame in a little self-promo). After doing so, I looked at my board titles " s o u l   f o o d" and started drawing and writing my favourites. This was one of the greatest ideas, for several reasons. My favourite of the reasons is that whenever I want the Lord to speak to me and provide the afore-mentioned reassurance, I can open up my journal, and believe me- God speaks.

     An example: I was feeling super stressed out yesterday over a quiz that I only felt partially prepared for, and I had been worried about it for a little while, although I had already prayed about it (oops). So before I headed out to the bus, I asked God to speak to me about the situation. I opened up the journal. The first page stated, "rejoice". I was satisfied enough with that, although finding it a little vague, so I looked at the page next to it, and there it was; "Lord forgive me, for picking up what I already left at Your feet." I already left it at the feet of the King, and all I needed to do was trust. I took the quiz, felt stable and that was the end of that. I tried my best and let God do the rest because His word never returns void, is alive and well, and never fails.

     That brings me to my point. Finding rest in God is essential and so easy to do, because the Lord waits for us with open arms, and all we have to do is settle down, nestle up and receive the peace that passeth all understanding. Resting in Christ and His promises, makes all of life's troubles seem so small in the vastness of the Savior. "God's love is meteoric, His loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, His verdicts oceanic, yet in His largeness, nothing gets lost".

     Whether you're laying in your bed, in the bathroom, sitting in class or whatever it is; it's never a bad time to take one second to ask God to be filled with peace and to receive rest. God freely gives to all.

rebecca.

Blessings: The Authority of Jesus

     Usually when I'm getting ready, I put on a sermon or a worship playlist. A few days ago I was listening to Francis Chan's sermon on how it is a good thing and a blessing to be under the authority of Jesus Christ. I wholeheartedly agree with Chan.

     It is so much better to be held under the authority of the One who knows it all, and always has your best interest at heart. Everything will always go perfectly if it's God's plans, and you will never regret going God's way. I know I never have.

Why I Stopped Sitting.

I stopped sitting.

      Recently, I have felt a little distanced from God and I knew exactly why, I was just too lazy and callous to do anything about it. I was drowning myself in social media and all the things that I knew distanced me from God; whilst in the back of my head I knew that I should have just shut my door, opened my Bible and sought His face. But I didn't. So, there I was distressed over something completely avoidable, knowing that the Creator of the Universe and lover of my soul was eager and willing to welcome me home as the prodigal son returned to his father.

     Soon after, I stopped sitting. I stopped begging God to come back to me and started chasing Him. I stopped asking God to fill me with all that He is and sought Him myself- and I have no regrets. The only regret that comes with Christianity and the only disappointment is when I, myself slip up. When I myself put God on the back burner. When I, myself know where true, genuine and perfect joy comes from and still fill myself with the world as if it would benefit me at all. All that does is pull you from God. It makes you feel like you're sitting in the bottom of the pit when there's a ladder right there- and you just refuse to climb it.

     I guess what I'm trying to say here is, if you're in the same place that I was, stop sitting. Stop sitting at the bottom of the pit looking at the ladder and at God's face yearning to see you get out, and make use of the ladder. Dive into his Word; it's living and it's true. Worship Him. Don't let the devil steal your praise and keep you where you are. Worship is your warfare. Lastly, pray. If you don't even know where to start and what to talk about, sometimes it's perfectly fine to sit in the presence of the Almighty God and refuel.

     He loves you, seek Him always.

stay blessed,
rebecca.

Leave It.

      The unknown can come off as pretty unfriendly, if you're anything like me. I'm a creature of habit and anything that seems as if it would throw my plans off course, shows itself as an automatic threat.

      However, time after time, God has shown me that His plans are better than my best laid out plans. There has never been a moment that I have regretted following Jesus, and the truth is that wherever  He places me, I am at my safest.

      So why should it be hard for me to give everything that I know to Him, when I know that He is the one and only God that multiplies, blesses, and covers everything that I lay in His hands. Knowing this makes it easier every single day to lay all of my burdens and thoughts at His feet because I know that He goes before me and that all of my battles have been both fought and won.

       The battle is His and He is the one and only Abba Father. Don't ever let the enemy fool you into thinking that your plans are better than his and that your blessings are safer in your keeping.

      Put all of your burdens, worries, thanks, anything in the hands of Jesus Christ. His yoke is easy and his burden is light. Anything that you give to Jesus will be blessed and you will see it come to fruition as He promised- and His promises are sacred.

       "Many things about tomorrow

I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand."

rebecca

It's Worth It.

    Then at last everyone will say, "There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth." -Psalm 58:11

      Is there a point in living for God? Yes. Not only because it is what He commands but because it is in our best interest. Wherever you go in this life, as long as the Lord led you there, you are at the safest place you will ever be.

That's one reward itself, not to mention that God will avenge you and defeat your enemies and that at the end of it all, there is the great reward of Heaven. No more tears, no more worries, no more sickness, no more pain, no more fighting- just the pure and untouched Glory of Jesus Christ.

So keep fighting the good fight!

stay blessed,
rebecca.

This is Love

Agape (Ancient Greek ἀγάπη, agápē) is "love: the highest form of love, charity; the love of God for man and of man for God."

To some, it might sound like a cliche, but I promise you the following statement is everything but that. Jesus loves you.

What greater love is there than the love of Jesus Christ? None, absolutely none. Whether you believe it or not, the fact alone that Jesus listened to His father, prayed, and went to die the worst death possible, is enough to make you ready to give your own life.

That's just the thing though, Jesus just asked for our fellowship. Jesus died for a relationship with you and I. All He asks of us is obedience and our love. "Who can fathom this exchange?" I can't.

Even if Jesus just left His death and our salvation there and was done, that would be sufficiently more than enough. However, He does so much more. Daily grace, daily mercies, daily forgiveness, daily fellowship, listening to us daily, fighting our battles daily, interceding for us to the father- daily. So much passion, so much agape love. All of this is for out taking, all of this is for free.

So where does this leave us? In a sea of free, and unending mercy. Encaptured by an unconditional love that casts out all fear. Loved by a Savior who would move mountains for us. Held in the hands of the eternal God. Saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. Pursued by the one and only Champion of Heaven.

Now that's something to lift up a shout of praise about.

rebecca.
