I know, I know, it's not the easiest thing to do but I promise at the end of the day you will overall feel more productive and your serotonin levels will peak. Setting your alarm for even 15 or 20 minutes before your actual time to wake up can be a total mood booster, even though you feel tired at first.
//Drink Water//
I used to be the kid that absolutely loathed water. At every game I played, I was the Caprisun and Gatorade girl, because I totally refused to drink water. Fortunately, I'm not that girl anymore! I started drinking my water and it's all I drink all day, except for my almond milk coffee in the morning. #Girlbosstip: Drink a mason jar full of water as soon as you wake up as a metabolism booster and energizer. Adding a little lemon also does the works!
//Read a Book//
One of the reasons I am so excited for summer is because I finally get time to get in a good read. I head out to Barnes and Noble on a mission and either read in the coffee shop or go home after purchasing and read out on my deck. It's one of my favorite time killers but it's also super enriching whether you read fiction or something substantial.
//Get organized//
I cannot bring myself to have a messy room, closet or makeup drawer. Getting, or keeping tidy makes me feel so empowered and helps me have a clear mind. I feel like I am able to tackle anything that's thrown at me!
//Skincare, not makeup//
Skincare. Skincare. Skincare. I certainly cannot stress this enough. If you keep putting makeup on top of 'bad' skin, it will take a while to get better and you'll likely cause more damage in the process- (trust me, I've been there). I meet with my facial lady monthly and use my recommended products to help with dark spots, breakouts and clean pores. Whatever your skincare routine it, be sure to do it, girl! It feels so good to have a no makeup day and feel awesome in your skin.
//Meditate//
A great way to center yourself and do anything you set your mind to is to meditate. Whether you pray, worship or do yoga, be sure to have a clear mind, before you go into it to avoid stress. I personally like to set on some worship music and devote my thoughts to God so that he handles them for me because, on my own, I'm sure I'd be so stressed out!
// Eat Clean+ Workout//
Recently I've been on a health kick. There's nothing better than eating clean and feeling light. It took me a while to stop weighing myself down with bad food and get right. I love putting in work and getting a good sweat because the shower and face mask after that is absolutely amazing.
//Set Goals + Use a Planner//
If there is one thing I will stress, it's planning. It's the ultimate stress avoider. Planning your days and setting your goals gives you a sense of accomplishment and overall helps your well-being by prepping you for any task. You can check out the Day Designer or my agenda.
I hope you enjoyed these girl boss tips and things that I do to feel empowered!
stay blessed,
rebecca.
