DO: Blowdry Your Hair Downward
Blowdrying your hair while brushing down and not just all around, helps prevent frizz and seal in whatever moisturizer or leave in conditionder you applied to your wet hair.
DON'T: Weight Your Hair Down
Moroccan oil used to be my favorite oil to apply both before and after styling. This became an issue because my extensions got totally weighed down and I had to wash them more frequently. I switched to a macadamia dry oil and I think I'll be pretty weary to try anything else
DO: Be Kind to Your Hair
Whenever you straighten your hair, be sure to use a low heat setting and take long and slow presses of each lock. This helps set in the product applied before styling, maintain sheen and aid in overall healthy, flawless hair.
DON'T: Dry Your Hair With A Towel
I learned a hack a little while ago. If you dont want to use a blow dryer and choose the towel route- stop where you are. Head to your room, grab a cotton tee you dont really care for, and dry your hair with that. This is another frizz buster!
DO: Deep Conditon
My hands-down, holy-grail deep conditioner is the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. I will admit, it's not the cheapest, but it's totally worth it for color treated hair, dry hair, oily hair (I know, how ironic), and any textured hair. (P.S. I always find a tub of it at Marshall's for near half off!)
It leaves your hair smelling absolutely wonderful and creates super soft and completely irresistable tresses.
DON'T: Comb From Top To Bottom
If you hate knots and tangles, stop brushing and combing your hair from top to bottom! (If that's a mistake you're making. If not, sorry girl.) Combing from top to bottom, almost ensures tangles and knots. Combing from the bottom, and making your way to the top helps prevent tangles and breakage- thus your healthy hair!
DO: Dry Shampoo
My all time favorite drug-store dry shampoo is the Pantene Pro-V Dry Shampoo. My favorite high-end dry shampoo is the Philosophy Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo! They're both totally amazing for oil-absorption and adding a really fresh smell to your hair.
I hope you all enjoyed my tips on some do's and dont's for hair and try some out!
stay blessed,
rebecca,
