Reclaim Your Time.

Why is time with God in the morning so overlooked? I am just as guilty as the next when it comes to this but over the past year, my alone time with God has absolutely evolved and I love where I am and where God is taking us.

Let me tell you in this moment, that once you make time for God...He will absolutely reclaim your time.

Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

Let's get one thing straight. God does not need us, at all- but He wants us. Isn't that a lot more gratifying though? God doesn't need us, but He is incredibly jealous for us, in relentless pursuit of us and longs to speak to us daily. There are so many reasons that we, however need God.

This is why alone time with God is so vital! Everyday more and more, I am more accepting of the quote "In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus." Man, I need Him. There is nothing that the enemy loves more than an unarmed Christian. The Christian who wakes up and checks their phone first thing, doesn't even think about God, and then goes on to live out their day in comfortable 'Christianity'. I've been there and it leads to a whole day, week, months and years of yikes. So no!
God calls us to literally live our best life.

How do we do that though? How can we live fully, and live lightly? Well, it all starts when you first open your eyes. When you wake up, don't check your phone first- just don't. What helps me is turning my phone on airplane mode overnight so that when I check my phone later in the morning or to turn off my alarm, I can't see any notifications. Tell God good morning. Have a little chat about your upcoming day. The most effective prayer was given to us by God Himself- what better than that? Pray the Lord's Prayer- it covers everything! Pray that God will use you in your day- it opens amazing doors. Pray that God will go before you in your day. Pray for strength, courage and overall the full armor of God.
When you put on your clothes, lipgloss, whatever- do.not.forget.to.suit.up.
Read your Bible. If you're new, the odds are if you ask God to speak to you and you open up your Bible- it will be oh, so evident. However, if you've been doing that for a while, you might find that that doesn't work as much anymore and you are going to have to look in the Word for yourself, but that's progress!

In essence, if you just take even 10 minutes of your morning to pray for yourself, others and prepare for your days, your whole life can turn around. God will reclaim that time. You are not too busy, I promise. Get on it and don't let the enemy steal the most important part of your day from you.

stay blessed,
