10 things to do to feel like a 10

     There are some days where you just don't feel your best. When I have those days, I do some of the little things that just make me feel really great. Today, I'm going to be sharing my top 10 things to do to have you feeling like a 10.

//Buy yourself some flowers//
Sometimes, when you feel a little off, buying yourself a bunch of flowers can really lift your spirits. I love going to Whole Foods and buying myself tulips. Pro tip: Make sure to place them in a very visible spot of your room as a constant reminder that you are worth it.
//Make a boss playlist//
Music is one of my favorite spirit lifters. Something about dancing around your room to uplifting lyrics can add a positive side to any situation. Whenever I'm worried, I completely jam out to "Trust in You" my Lauren Daigle, and somehow in the midst of it all, I am reminded that the Creator of the Universe is chasing me down with His grace and favor and that He has my best interest in mind.

//Pamper yourself//
One of my favorite things to do is drop a Lush bubble bar in the tub, light a candle and watch something on my laptop. Add a face mask of choice and you have yourself a DIY pamper night. If you don't want to watch anything, it's a really great idea to just put on a slow paced worship playlist and meditate on the lyrics, or even just put your hair back, lay in the tub and talk to God. All in all, bath+face mask= self-treated.

//Try a bold lip color//
Few things in life can make you feel more fierce than a bold lippy. Try a ravishing red or a perfect pink!

//Get to pinning//
I love making Pinterest boards for legitimately anything. If you want to make a board on your life goals, style or just quotes, go for it! Anything flies girly.

//Read a book//
I adore a good read and often find myself wishing I had more time to read; (fingers crossed that summer will come a little bit faster). I often feel a lot better when I learn something. Reading a girl boss book puts a real pep in my step and you'll most definitely be on your way to feeling a 10.

//Watch a TEDtalk//
As aforementioned, I love learning things. TED talks are awesome for it. The speakers are rather informative, the cream of the crop and crème de la crème. I aspire to be a neurologist and neurosurgeon, so personally I like the neuroscience talks.
Watch whatever you want!

//Work out//
Casse Ho is my go to gal. Whenever I want to destress physically, I load up some Blogilates on my Apple TV
and sweat it out. Whether you like running, yoga or pilates, a good sweat can overall make you feel really
great about yourself.

//Make your fave dessert//
You can lift yourself by making or (ok, buying) your favorite sweet! My guilty pleasure is red velvet, but if I
want to keep it Dr.Oz approved, I reach for a good acai bowl.
Treat yoself!

//Post reminders//
Grab a stack of post it notes, and write reminders that make you feel like a total girl boss.
Reminding yourself of who you are, and what you're
capable of is such a good feel and you'll have a constant
reminder that you are worth everything wonderful, and then some.

I really hope that you all enjoyed my top 10 things to do to feel like a 10! Try some of these out and watch
your spirits soar.

Finding Rest in the Lover of Our Soul

     Whew. It has been a super hectic week. So many assignments, tests, quizzes and life itself was thrown at me, eager to see how I would react- but I wouldn't have it any other way. Now, I don't mean to say that I enjoy hardship and ask for it, but I do try to rejoice in the trials because God has placed them there for a reason, and "God wastes nothing, even the bad stuff".

      Through the week, God has stood true to me in showing me that He really never will forsake me and that He is always there to supply the precious reassurance I often need. I recently created a little prayer journal without lines- for the art :-). From there, I hopped on Pinterest as I so often do, ( you can follow me here; no shame in a little self-promo). After doing so, I looked at my board titles " s o u l   f o o d" and started drawing and writing my favourites. This was one of the greatest ideas, for several reasons. My favourite of the reasons is that whenever I want the Lord to speak to me and provide the afore-mentioned reassurance, I can open up my journal, and believe me- God speaks.

     An example: I was feeling super stressed out yesterday over a quiz that I only felt partially prepared for, and I had been worried about it for a little while, although I had already prayed about it (oops). So before I headed out to the bus, I asked God to speak to me about the situation. I opened up the journal. The first page stated, "rejoice". I was satisfied enough with that, although finding it a little vague, so I looked at the page next to it, and there it was; "Lord forgive me, for picking up what I already left at Your feet." I already left it at the feet of the King, and all I needed to do was trust. I took the quiz, felt stable and that was the end of that. I tried my best and let God do the rest because His word never returns void, is alive and well, and never fails.

     That brings me to my point. Finding rest in God is essential and so easy to do, because the Lord waits for us with open arms, and all we have to do is settle down, nestle up and receive the peace that passeth all understanding. Resting in Christ and His promises, makes all of life's troubles seem so small in the vastness of the Savior. "God's love is meteoric, His loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, His verdicts oceanic, yet in His largeness, nothing gets lost".

     Whether you're laying in your bed, in the bathroom, sitting in class or whatever it is; it's never a bad time to take one second to ask God to be filled with peace and to receive rest. God freely gives to all.

rebecca.

Blessings: The Authority of Jesus

     Usually when I'm getting ready, I put on a sermon or a worship playlist. A few days ago I was listening to Francis Chan's sermon on how it is a good thing and a blessing to be under the authority of Jesus Christ. I wholeheartedly agree with Chan.

     It is so much better to be held under the authority of the One who knows it all, and always has your best interest at heart. Everything will always go perfectly if it's God's plans, and you will never regret going God's way. I know I never have.
