*Sips chai tea*.
Ah, it's good to be back. Recently I have been super busy, not the binge-watch Scandal and Grey's anatomy with a cup of hot tea busy, but the hey, I'm being productive type busy. One of the ways I was being advantageous with my time was by doing some
snooping exploring in the beauty world, which is something I recently lost my touch for.
My 12 year lip gloss poppin, makeup obessin' self was no where to be found and believe me I'm pretty torn up about it. Thus being said, I made a sober and quite solemn promise to myself I would get my head in the game. And so the journey begun.
I started off my travail by a quick trip to the mall to get my makeup done to see what kind of tips and tricks of the trade I could pick up from the Artist. I expected quite more than I recieved, however that fact was rather calming becuase it showed me I did know quite a bit before my sojurn. Yay.
I decided to continue my journey on my own- self based research. I was swiping through the Cosmopolitan Snapchat Story- that's a life saver by the way; and I started to read about this new trend "Baking your face". Guess my reaction.
I kept on reading anyway. Curiosity was about the kill this cat- with excitement of course! No harm in the beauty industry, right? Here is the article so you can get the run down on the trend
Face Baking. I decided to try this out and I quickly came to the realization that I kind of looked
flawless extremely cakey. I did kind of like it, but I liked it on Kim K, NOT me. When it comes to makeup I can be rather minimalistic so that was dead to me.
On to the next trend - WInged Liner. THAT is art. So, precise and I must say I'm more of a type-A, OCD personality and I was not quite satisfied with my results. Many of my friends said it looked fine and I suppose it didn't look like an absolute train wreck. Thank you my comrades (; The main point here is Rebecca should stay away from the winged liner. It doesn't suit my eye shape, it takes too much time and it's too. much.
"Alright" I say to myself, "there has to be some type of trend that you can keep up with and not fail miserably at. Try something simple". I decided to venture on and use something on one of my favorite features- my lips. I decided to try a nude lip color. I went with a NYX nude pencil to line my outer lips and took a Revlon gloss in "Snow Pink" on top of the liner. S'cute. I was quite happy with the result. Sounds chessy but I was so happy because I usually just throw on chapstick and go and it was nice to put in more effort.
We're at a close my friends, I decided to fix my lashes. I'm not quite sure if this counts as a trend necessarily, but hey. I have very short eyelashes and that has always been a pet peeve of mine. I do make it work however. I was determined to go on a strict lash- growth regimen. I applied coconut oil and olive oil on my lashes every single night. I started to see major results on day three when I started to wear mascara once more so I wouldnt mess up the process. I put on the Tarte- Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and when I tell you my lashes looked amazing I mean it. However I didn't look good at all putting on the mascara- just girly things. Sucess.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a glamorous day!
